How do we prepare for Coronavirus in MACSA
Safety and health of our patients, volunteers and staff is of highest priority in MACSA. Until now, none of MACSA staff are being diagnosed with COVID-19. We do our best to provide protection for all these groups and prevent COVID-19 from further spreading, since MACSA is located in Iran one the countries in the first line of war against Coronavirus pandemic. As well MACSA is publishing up-to-date information in Persian to increase awareness of in Iran and other Persian speaking areas.
Since the people with underlying medical conditions are at a higher risk to develop severe symptoms following infection with the new Coronavirus (COVID-19), our patients and all people with cancer as well as cancer survivors should carefully follow the instructions provided by ministry of health of Iran.
MACSA has taken the following considerations into account in order to reduce the chance of COVID-19 further spreading.

Precautions in the MACSA services
Our social working services, genetic counseling, nutrition counseling, physical therapy, as well as all in person psychologist, physician and nurse visits are suspended.
All our psychology counseling services are now being solely provided via phone.
To prevent unnecessary referral of the cancer patients to hospitals, we continue the admission of new patients.
All social charity and volunteer events are canceled or postponed.
Precautions in MACSA home care services
Psychology and pastoral home care programs are suspended.
Physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who are providing any services in centers related to COVID-19 are banned from work in MACSA until further notice.
To prevent unnecessary referral of the cancer patients to hospitals, MACSA continues to provide medical home care services to our patients, with the careful considerations of practice of hygiene.
All patient and care givers are evaluated for COVID-19 symptoms before the home care team being sent and at the arrival of the team to the patient’s home.
Precautions in our staff, volunteers and fundraising programs
All staff who their work allows, are encouraged to continue their tasks from home.
All staff have been educated on how to prevent spreading of Coronavirus.
All volunteer activities at MACSA are suspended. We appreciate the help of our volunteers who may stay connected from home.

All donors are asked to make their charitable donations through online or other unattended payment methods.
