Nutrition Counselling

Good nutrition is a main concern of the patients and families during cancer treatment and also after recovery. Furthermore, the patients with advanced disease, the uptake of the energy and nutrient usually becomes a major challenge kindled by impaired nutrition.

The following services are provided by the MACSA Nutrition Counseling Unit as a part of the supportive and palliative care program:

  • Nutrition counseling for patients during chemotherapy and radiation therapy;
  • Nutrition counseling for cancer survivors;
  • Nutritional advice and supervision for the patients hospitalized at home with enteral or parenteral nutrition in collaboration with the caregiver.
  • Inter-professional counseling on nutritional management of inpatients and the patients hospitalized at home;
  • Cancer risk reduction counseling for the family.
